2008 NON-RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION BY THE NUMBERS! (04/01/2008)
The following information is from McGraw-Hill’s F.W. Dodge Division’s monthly report (January 2008) covering several areas of non-residential construction projects found in west Michigan.

Battle Creek MSA
Non-residential construction totaled $221,000. However, that was still an increase over the year before when none was reported.

Grand Rapids-Wyoming MSA Gained significantly in non-residential construction which more than quadrupled over January 2007, totaling $30.71 million.

Holland-Grand Haven MSA
Non-residential construction brought a five percent increase in construction starts, tallying $5.36 million.

Kalamazoo-Portage MSA
Started 2008 with a thud, as non-residential work pitched 86 percent to $779,000.

Muskegon-Norton Shores MSA
2008 has not been as uplifting as 2007 was with non-residential totaling $2.76 million.

Niles-Benton Harbor MSA
Non-residential construction surged up to $4.74 million compared to nothing reported in January 2007.
