In 2016, The Clays-For-Kids Foundation recognized The Clinica Santa Maria. The Clínica Santa María staff includes a team of bilingual doctors and health professionals that provide primary health care to the underserved, homeless, migrant, and uninsured throughout the Grand Rapids community. The funds raised will allow the clinic to serve children in the program by providing sleep boxes to promote sleep safety, exercise backpacks to support healthy living, as well as age appropriate books to encourage literacy. $35,000 was donated to Clinica Santa Maria.
In 2015, The Clays-For-Kids Foundation recognized The Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan (DSAWM) which was formed in 1985 by six couples with children with Down Syndrome. Their original aim was to provide support and share knowledge with other families. Throughout the years, the goals of the Association have broadened to encompass advocacy, public awareness and the distribution of information relevant to Down Syndrome. The mission of the Association is to be a resource and advocacy organization promoting public awareness and supporting lifelong opportunities for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. Together, with ABC WMC and the Clays-For- Kids Foundation, $25,000 was donated to the DSAWM.
