CWDAThe Construction Workforce Development Alliance of West Michigan (CWDA) was established by the Associated Builders and Contractors Western Michigan Chapter (ABC/WMC), American Subcontractors Association of Michigan (ASAM), and the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids (HBAGGR). The goal of the CWDA is to redefine the image of the construction industry and to promote career opportunities within the industry.

CWDA MISSION
The CWDA's goal is to rebrand the construction industry as a worthwhile and compelling option for those who are not pursuing a traditional four-year degree or those looking for alternative field of work.
CWDA aims to accomplish this through a two-pronged approach. The first is developing an online resource for the West Michigan construction industry. This website will offer general industry centered information, opportunities for employment and information about educational programs available to those interested in construction.
Secondly, the CWDA is collaborating with Grand Rapid Community College M-TEC (GRCC) and MI Works! of Allegan and Kent Counties to offer a specialized training program- the Construction Core Certification (CCC). The Alliance has worked with industry members to create a new curriculum designed to fill specific availabilities for incoming and advancing workers in the industry. The curriculum is structured into a multi-nodule format and participants may take the full CCC, a 100-hour program, or they may select specific modules to focus their training. The CCC will offer two learning tracks- Commercial Construction and Residential Construction.
